I created this site in order to share my artwork with others and also to be able more easily to see and to consider my own work as a body. The site includes a selection of my work to date, most which are in my own collection or those of family or friends. Except for the watercolors, all the paintings are done in oil paint, usually without any added medium. Most are small in size and are on stretched canvas.
What motivates me to make a painting is the existence of a kind of intimacy between myself and what is depicted, like a private love story. For me the voice of these stories is, above all, light. Often this story also has an abstract symbolism for me, as in my paintings of wild grass, which speaks to me of accommodation and resilience, inter- and independence, sensitivity and flexibility, openness, and the longevity of what is simple.
