Commissions
I have painted portraits on commission both from life and from photographs. While I prefer to paint from life, I realize it's not always feasible for a variety of reasons. Some people find it a pleasant experience to be painted, while others fidget and are impatient. It's important to be relaxed during the painting of a portrait.
For a small portrait in oils to be done in one sitting of several hours I charge as little as $250.00. Larger portraits take longer, are harder and require more paint. I use only the best quality artists' series paints from Windsor & Newton and Old Holland.
